BUZZARD’S BAY, Mass. -B.J. Dunlap of Norridgewock completed 6 of 10 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns and also rushed for two scores as Maine Maritime Academy beat Massachusetts Maritime 41-28 for the annual battle for the Admirals’ Cup in college football action Saturday.

The undefeated Mariners (3-0) trailed 28-26 entering the fourth quarter, but Dunlap passed 29 yards to Cody Schmidt to give MMA a 34-28 lead, then rushed 1 yard for the final touchdown of the game.

Schmidt finished with four receptions for 113 yards and three TDs, while Jon Farrin of Boothbay Harbor caught a 55-yard TD pass.

Don Thibodeau of Shawmut rushed for 94 yards on 22 carries as MMA finished with 211 rushing yards on the day.

Colby 35, Williams 9

At Waterville, junior quarterback Justin Smith completed 17 of 23 passes for 207 yards and four touchdowns as Colby opened the New England Small College Athletic Conference season with a win.

The Mules jumped out to a 21-3 halftime lead on TD passes from Smith to Michael Tomich and Rob Jacobs and a 12-yard scoring run by Chris Bashaw.

Smith added touchdown passes to Roddy Ames and Bashaw in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-3.

Ames finished with five receptions for 67 yards, while Tomich had four catches for 87 yards.

Brian Liberty led the Colby defense with eight tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery, while Mike Bracco and Andrew Heaney each had 10 tackles.

Hartwick 54, Husson 28

At Oneonta, N.Y., Lindy Crea rushed for 232 yards and five touchdowns as host Hartwick earned the nonconference victory over Husson of Bangor.

Hartwick amassed 553 yards of total offense, 407 on the ground, and extended a 20-14 halftime lead with 20 unanswered points in the third quarter.

Julius Williams rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries to pace Husson’s offense, which totaled 335 yards, 227 on the ground.

Williams scored on a 30-yard run in the first quarter, and on a 12-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Leon added 67 yards on just two carries for the Eagles, while Darius Charlton rushed for 62 yards on 14 tries.

Adam Scott added a 75-yard kickoff return for a touchdown that tied the game at 14-14 with 7:51 left in the first half.

But Hartwick scored with 7 seconds left in the half on a 10-yard pass from Jason Boltus to Zach Turner to take the lead for good.

Andre Wildman caught a 29-yard TD pass from Shane Johnson late in the fourth quarter to cap off the Eagles’ scoring.

Shane Rogers led the Husson defense with eight tackles, while Ross Salovitch and Bobby Gilbert had seven tackles each.

At Brunswick, Jeff Nolin set a school record with 203 receiving yards as Bowdoin won its season opener for the first time since 1991.

Nolin who ran 12 yards for the winning touchdown with 2:37 left in the game, made 10 receptions, including a 46-yard TD pass from quarterback Ricky Leclerc in the first quarter.

Leclerc completed 22 of 37 passes for 303 yards.

Defensive back Steve Curwen led Bowdoin’s defense with 10 tackles, and he also returned a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown.

Middlebury’s Stefan Hrdina rushed for 238 yards on 38 carries and scored two touchdowns.

At Lewiston, defending New England Small College Athletic Conference champion Trinity of Hartford, Conn. ran its winning streak to a national-best 23 games.

The Bantams amassed 518 yards of total offense, 260 through the air and 258 on the ground.

Trinity held just a 7-0 lead midway through the second quarter, but scored 37 unanswered points during a 13-minute span late in the second period and early in the third quarter to put the game away.

Dave Bodger led Bates with 91/2 tackles, while quarterback Brandon Colon passed for 110 yards.
