BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

NATE CARTER

Carter, a forward on the Presque Isle Wildcats, scored seven goals in three matches as the unbeaten Wildcats improved to 9-0. Carter scored once in a 4-1 victory at Mount Desert Island, then had back-to-back hat tricks as Presque Isle shut out Foxcroft Academy and John Bapst of Bangor.

Small School (Classes C-D)

MARDY SIMON

Simon, a senior for the Orono High football team, rushed for 437 yards on 21 carries and scored seven touchdowns as the Red Riots defeated Boothbay 57-40 on Saturday. He had six touchdowns on runs of 55, 35, 50, 25, 76 and 12 yards and scored the seventh on a 35-yard pass reception. Simon also starred defensively with 13 tackles and a pass interception.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

WHITNEY SINCLAIR

Sinclair, a sophomore wing, for John Bapst of Bangor, scored three goals in a Sept. 23 game against Ellsworth and another three on Sept. 24 against Caribou, her third three-goal game of the season. Halfway through the season, Sinclair has recorded 12 goals and five assists.

Small School (Classes C-D)

AMANDA GIFFORD

Gifford, a sophomore midfielder, for Lee Academy, scored three goals in a victory over Penobscot Valley of Howland on Sept. 27 and scored four goals in a win over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook on Sept. 26.
