Gibson leads Terriers to win

STANDISH – Ashley Gibson scored a pair of goals to lead the Thomas College field hockey team to a 4-0 win over St. Joseph’s College Wednesday.

Amy Miles and Kari Grant added a goal apiece for 4-2 Thomas. Jennifer Lane had fours saves.

Kelsey Moody had two saves for the 0-6 Monks.

Bates 4, UM-Farmington 3 (OT)

At Lewiston, Rachel Greenwood scored her second goal of the game 13:20 into overtime to lift Bates to victory.

Megan Petry and Emily Sampson added a goal each for Bates. Sarah Judire had seven saves on 17 shots.

Kristy Veazie scored two goals and Mary Berry one for the Beavers. Kaleigh Barker stopped nine of 17 shots.

Men’s soccer

Colby 2, Southern Maine 0

At Waterville, goals by Chris MacFayden and Tom Milaschewski lifted the White Mules to the win.

Bobby Abendroth and Todd Boertzel each had an assist for 3-2 Colby. Josh Kahane had four saves on six shots.

Chris Willard stopped two of 14 shots for the 1-6-1 Huskies.

Husson 2, UM-Presque Isle 1

At Bangor, Oscar Ody scored one goal and assisted on another by Chris Rozak to lead the Eagles to victory.

Dana Bellemare had 10 saves on 13 shots for 7-4-1 Husson.

Jared Griffiths scored the lone goal for the 3-4 Owls, off a pass from Jared Dyer. Scott Clenohy stopped 11 of 19 shots.

Women’s soccer

St. Joseph’s 2, UMF 1 (OT)

At Farmington, Danielle McLaughlin knocked in a loose ball with 2:20 left in the first overtime to lift the Monks of Standish to victory.

Katie Jordan tied the score for St. Joe’s, now 5-3, at the 64 minute mark. Alex Raymond stopped all three shots she faced.

Julie Walters scored at the 58 minute mark for the 4-3-1 Beavers. Melissa DeMerchant had nine saves on 10 shots.
