ORONO – The University of Maine School of Performing arts has announced its fall 2005 performance schedule, a showcase of music and theatrical productions involving faculty members, students and guest performers. Admission is $6 and events take place in Minsky Recital Hall unless otherwise noted.

ORONO – The University of Maine School of Performing arts has announced its fall 2005 performance schedule, a showcase of music and theatrical productions involving faculty members, students and guest performers.

The schedule is:

. Music, Minsky Recital Series:

Nancy Ogle and Friends, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29. Features new songs by American composers, with music faculty members Nancy Ellen Ogle, Anatole Wieck, Ginger Yang Hwalek, Richard Kenefic and Kathleen Ellis.

Trumpet-piano recital, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, with faculty members Jack Burt and Laura Artesani.

Violin Recital, 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, with associate music professor Anatole Wieck and guests.

Piano-tuba concert, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with guest tuba player Scott Vailancourt and lecturer and pianist Ginger Yang Hwalek.

. Guest artist:

Tribute to Janet Gilbert, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11. A special concert dedicated to the works of internationally recognized composer Janet Gilbert. The central musical work of the project is “Gitanjali,” which combines traditional western instruments with South Indian musical elements, dance and poetry.

. Minsky Recital Hall Ensemble Series:

Women composers concert, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Seventh annual concert will feature the Athena Consort, faculty members from the UMaine School of Performing Arts and special guests.

Homecoming concert with school of performing alumni, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22.

Orchestra concert, Saturday, Oct. 29.

Collegiate Chorale, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6.

University Singers, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13.

Percussion Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Athena Consort-Black Bear Men’s Chorus, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19.

Oratorio Society, 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20.
