Leather, BC Pats prevail

STACYVILLE – Amber Leather scored three goals to lead the Bangor Christian Patriots to a 5-3 win over the Katahdin Cougars in a high school girls soccer game Thursday.

Morgan Chasse added two goals for the 7-1 Patriots. Moriah Bach made seven saves on 22 shots.

Ronni Robinson scored twice for 0-9-1 Katahdin and Caitlin Duffy also had a goal. Kayla Stevens stopped 12 of 17 shots.

Narraguagus 1, Shead 0

At Harrington, Megan Nevells scored an unassisted goal with 17:17 left in the first half to give Narraguagus the win.

Samantha Baker made four saves on five shots for 5-1-2 Narraguagus.

Dorothy Pottle stopped five of eight shots for 3-3-1 Shead of Eastport.

Wash. Acad. 1, Woodland 0

At East Machias, Sarah Rushforth scored the winning goal on a penalty kick 58 seconds into the second overtime to lead Washington Academy to victory.

Megan Look made nine saves on 11 shots for 7-1 Washington Academy.

Cindy Bergin stopped 20 of 24 shots for 4-4-1 Woodland.

Boys soccer

Dexter 4, DI-Stonington 3

At Deer Isle, Brandon Woodman scored unassisted with 37 seconds left to give the Tigers the win.

Quinn Dillon notched two goal and Dan Beatham one for 8-1-1 Dexter. Chris Eastman had 15 saves on 20 shots.

Parker McDonald scored a pair of goals and Miles Douglas one for the 2-6 Mariners. Brian Ciomei had two assists. Eben Powers stopped 20 of 25 shots.

Hampden 8, Old Town 3

At Old Town Wednesday, Martin Earley scored four goals and recorded one assist as the Broncos rolled to the win.

Logan Larabee and J Uhrin tallied a goal and assist apiece for 7-2 Hampden while Jake Foster and Aaron Gilio added a goal each. Cam Murray had nine saves on 13 shots.

Nate Lonko sparked 2-4 Old Town with two goals and one assist. Dillon Clark chipped in with a goal and Hogan Marquis an assist. Ethan Shanley blocked 20 of 33 shots.

Field hockey

Orono 0, Mattanawcook 0

At Lincoln, the game was called at halftime due to rain.

Kristine Kittridge made two saves on four shots for 2-7-1 Orono.

Sarah French stopped one of three shots for 4-5-1 Mattanawcook Academy.
