DEER ISLE – Brandon Woodman scored an unassisted goal with 37 seconds remaining in regulation as the Dexter Tigers dodged an upset with a 4-3 win over the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners in schoolboy soccer action Thursday.
Quinn Dillon notched two goal and Dan Beatham one for 8-1-1 Dexter. Chris Eastman had 15 saves on 20 shots.
Parker McDonald scored a pair of goals and Miles Douglas one for the 2-6 Mariners. Brian Ciomei had two assists. Eben Powers stopped 20 of 25 shots.
Hampden 8, Old Town 3
At Old Town Tuesday, Martin Earley scored four goals and recorded one assist as the Broncos rolled to the win.
Logan Larabee and J Uhrin tallied a goal and assist apiece for 7-2 Hampden while Jake Foster and Aaron Gilio added a goal each. Cam Murray had nine saves on 13 shots.
Nate Lonko sparked 2-4 Old Town with two goals and one assist. Dillon Clark chipped in with a goal and Hogan Marquis an assist. Ethan Shanley blocked 20 of 33 shots.
Girls soccer
Dexter 4, Foxcroft 3
At Dexter, Sara Domenech scored off a Kylie Keene corner kick with 1:24 left in the game to give the Tigers the victory.
Dexter took a 3-1 first-half lead on goals by Lindsay Burton, Tania Morales and Anna Fournier.
Foxcroft responded with second-half goals by Ally Holmbom and Kelsey Hill. Leslie Martin had scored in the first half.
Ashley Richardson made seven saves on 10 shots for 4-6-1 Dexter, and Brittany Fadley made 10 saves on 14 shots for 3-5-1 Foxcroft.
Bangor Christian 5, Katahdin 3
At Stacyville, Amber Leather scored three goals to lead Bangor Christian.
Morgan Chasse added two goals for the 7-1 Patriots. Moriah Bach made seven saves on 22 shots.
Ronni Robinson scored twice for 0-9-1 Katahdin, and Caitlin Duffy also had a goal. Kayla Stevens stopped 12 of 17 shots.
Schenck 3, Piscataquis 2
At Guilford, Courtney MacLeod scored two goals, including the game-winner with 5:30 left, to lead Schenck of East Millinocket to victory.
Ashley Dodge scored on a MacLeod assist for the 4-3 Wolverines, and Kristen Nicholson added two assists. Robin Larlee stopped eight of 10 shots.
Tori Tracy and Jessica Crouse each scored a goal for 1-6-1 Piscataquis. Jill Martell made seven saves on 10 shots.
Field hockey
Orono 0, Mattanawcook 0
At Lincoln, the game was called at halftime due to rain.
Kristine Kittridge made two saves on four shots for 2-7-1 Orono.
Sarah French stopped one of three shots for 4-5-1 Mattanawcook Academy.
