AUGUSTA – The American Bus Association announced this week that the annual Maine Lobster Festival and the Fryeburg Fair, which is set for Oct. 1-8, have been designated two of the Top 100 Events in North America for 2006 by a tourism industry selection committee. The Top 100 List is published as a supplement to the September-October issue of Destinations magazine.

“The real news here is that these events have been recognized as a potential magnet for tourism dollars, at a time when re-energizing domestic tourism is so important to our spirit and our economy,” Peter J. Pantuso, ABA’s president and CEO, said. “The honor gives Maine an important boost in visibility among professional tour planners.”
