The University of Southern Maine will induct six people into its Husky Hall of Fame during ceremonies Saturday at the Brooks Student Center on the school’s Gorham campus.
This year’s inductees include former All-America baseball pitcher Robert Aceto, Class of 1992; former All-America field hockey standout Kathy Corbin Zeva (1989); former all-district softball player Lisa Chase (1985); former Gorham State Teachers College baseball and basketball star Keith Grant (1950); former University of Maine-Portland basketball star Harold Moulton (1967); and former UMaine-Portland basketball player and golfer Dick Harris (1964).
The USM athletic department also will present three special awards. The Richard A. “Doc” Costello Special Achievement Award will go to Dennis Ela, a longtime educator, administrator, and soccer official. Victor Neuwirth will be presented with the David F. Drew III Service Award for dedicated support and and service to the athletic department.
Also, Phineas Sprague will receive the Clifford O.T. Weiden Award for his contributions to the USM sailing program and his promotion of the sport.
