Listeria threat prompts meat products recall

About 1,076 pounds of chicken sausages and beef wieners, produced by New Packing Co. Inc. of Chicago, have been recalled because they may be contaminated with listeria. The Pure Farms brand chicken products include andouille sausage, bratwurst, breakfast links, Italian sausage, Polish sausage and wieners, all bearing the number P-21280 and the sell-by date 11.07.05. The products were packaged Sept. 22 and distributed to stores in California, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Washington state. No illnesses have been reported.
