911 calls, alleged assault on boyfriend result in summons

A Bangor woman was issued several criminal summonses Monday morning after reportedly assaulting her live-in boyfriend, trashing his belongings and repeatedly calling 911.

Cindy Lou Scanlin, 41, initially called police shortly before 1 a.m. to say she wanted to have her boyfriend removed from her Ohio Street apartment. She apparently was so drunk, however, that she gave police the wrong address, according to Officer Michael Brennan’s report.

When Brennan arrived, he saw a broken guitar and other items near the steps leading to the apartment. Scanlin came down the stairs with a 40-ounce beer bottle in her hand and told the officer that her boyfriend was inside and she wanted him to leave.

Brennan spoke with the boyfriend, who said he had left the apartment earlier that night but returned to get his things because he figured Scanlin would be passed out, the report stated. When he came back, he said, she attacked him, broke his glasses and began throwing his belongings down the steps.

Scanlin was charged with domestic assault, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. She told Brennan that if her boyfriend didn’t leave she was going to kill him.

Several hours later, at about 8:30 a.m. Monday, Scanlin called 911 again to report that the boyfriend had returned. Police warned her not to call 911 anymore, but less than an hour later, she did. A charge of misusing an E-911 system was added to the list.

knife.

The victim entered the Brewer police station Saturday evening to report that she had been assaulted by Shawn Boutot, 21. She said he pushed her around and then pulled out a small knife and pointed it at her.
