A family from New Orleans wrote this note to Father Bob Vaillancourt, pastor of Saint Matthew’s Church in Hampden and Saint Gabriel’s Parish in Winterport, to thank the parishioners and others from Maine who donated goods to the hurricane relief effort.

To God be the glory for the things he is doing and going to do for us. Thank you all so very, very much for your love, concern and consideration. For you all have truly blessed us in this time of need and I thank God for you all. It’s just overwhelming the provisions that you all have made possible. Your kindness will NEVER be forgotten with God nor us. You will always be in our prayers and keep us in your prayers. We love you!!
