On Monday, Officer Rob Angelo responded to a call from three women who saw a woman crying in her car at the Airport Mall parking lot. The woman was waiting in an ambulance when Angelo arrived. She said her boyfriend, Dallas Quarles, 29, of Bangor, had thrown a roll of quarters at her head for disciplining his autistic son. The blow knocked her to the ground and caused bleeding. She said this was not the first physical incident she had had with Quarles.

Quarles was questioned and said that he had seen the woman discipline his son which caused them to argue. He claimed she had thrown a television remote at him and produced a broken remote. He said he hit her in the head with the rolled coins, but was only worried about his son.

Quarles’ mother was contacted to look after his son. He was arrested for domestic assault.

On Tuesday Officer Robert Hutchings responded to a call on Ohio Street where Herbert Lee, 54, of Bangor had reportedly been drinking since Friday.

Lee had called his mother-in-law obscene names and grabbed his wife harshly by the arm. His wife’s arm was scratched, and half her shirt had been ripped off. He allegedly threw a pie, a telephone, and other objects from the kitchen at her as well.

Lee claimed that his mother-in-law threatened to poison him. He was arrested for domestic assault.

Officer David Bushey responded to a traced cell phone hang-up on Tuesday to the residence of Carl Averill, 45. Averill said he and his girlfriend had been arguing when she threw a plate of spaghetti at him. His shirt was smeared with spaghetti sauce. He said he had not touched her and made the call to get her to stop.

Bushey questioned the girlfriend on the upper floor of the residence and saw that her left wrist was recently bruised. Her shirt and pants also had spaghetti sauce on them.

The victim said she and Averill had been drinking at a friend’s apartment earlier and had been arguing the whole time. She was reportedly too intoxicated to say what the argument had been about. She pointed out an upturned bowl of spaghetti and a wall phone lying on the floor. The victim said that Averill had knocked over the spaghetti before ripping the phone off the wall and throwing it at her.

The victim was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center and Averill was arrested for domestic related assault and obstructing the report of a crime or injury.
