WATERVILLE – Jennifer Reilly scored the winning goal with 30 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Colby College field hockey team to a 2-1 win over UMaine-Farmington Tuesday.
Reilly redirected a pass from Emily Lawrence for the goal. Mary Clare Snediker scored off a penalty stroke with 23:34 remaining. Molly Rice stopped 12 of 18 shots for 2-4 Colby.
Kristin Chambers scored the tying goal with 1:35 left. Kaeleigh Barker made nine saves on 18 shots for the 7-3 Beavers.
Fitchburg St. 2, USM 1 (2OT)
At Gorham, Sarah Proctor scored four minutes into the second overtime to lift Fitchburg State to victory.
Cait O’Hearn added a second-half tally and Christina Charron had two saves on four shots for the 8-1 winners.
Denise Minigell scored for the 4-6 Huskies. Sadie Garnache-Poirier stopped one of five shots.
Men’s soccer
UMF 2, Maine Maritime 0
At Farmington, Joe Conway scored in the 52nd minute to lift the Beavers to the win.
The other goal was scored when a Maine Maritime player deflected the ball into the net. Brian Lemont had eight saves on 13 shots for 2-5-1 UMF.
Josh Heath stopped three of eight shots for the 6-3-1 Mariners.
Bates 2, Southern Maine 0
At Gorham, Terence O’Connell and David Shear scored first-half goals for the Bobcats of Lewiston in the win.
Aaron Schleicher and Rob Munro didn’t have to make a save on three shots for Bates, now 6-1-1.
Chris Willard had no saves on 12 shots for the 1-7-2 Huskies.
