Frankfort Elementary School
FRANKFORT – The Frankfort Elementary School PTG is holding a recycling drive through Oct. 21. The school is collecting returnable bottles and cans at the school, with a collection box out in front of the library.
In addition to recycling bottles and cans, the school continues to collect used cell phones as well as ink jet and laser jet cartridges.
“If you’ve been looking at those empty ink cartridges for months and thinking about bringing them in, this is your chance,” said Nancy Tang of the Frankfort PTG. “We’ve got a push on in October to collect a record number of them. If you know of a business that may use ink cartridges, please ask them to join our efforts. We can provide them with a postage-paid box to fill, or we can come by and pick up the empties.”
The drive will raise money to help support field trips and enrichment activities for the pupils. For information, call Nancy at 223-0070 or Deb at 223-9933.
Frankfort Elementary School is running a penny drive through Oct. 28 in order to raise funds for the American Red Cross to help those who are victims of Hurricane Katrina. Pennies may be brought to the school during school hours.
The 21st Back to Nature Run will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17. The fifth grade is organizing the event for fourth- and fifth-graders graders running over a trail in the forest behind the school. Jordan Bleakney was the winner of the T-shirt design contest for the event. Trophies are awarded, too.
