I agree with one sentence in the letter, “Legal discrimination” (BDN, Sept. 21) by Barry Canner and Robert Travers. Yes, people would rather be putting monies to better use than the gay rights referendum.
Needing to blame someone for not getting their way, they have to lash out at Christian organizations. Why aren’t they looking at Gov. Baldacci if they need someone to blame? He was the one who overturned the vote of the people. If he hadn’t gone over the heads of the voters and tried to change their decision, this would not be on the ballot again.
Repeatedly bringing it up and re-voting until you get it the way you want it, does cost money.
Don’t blame the Christians for something brought on by those who feel a special interest group needs special privileges.
