Andy Santerre of Cherryfield needs to finish 17th or better to assure him of his fourth consecutive Busch North Series points championship when the series concludes Sunday with a 100-lap race at Thompson International Speedway (Conn.).

Santerre has a 75-point lead over Grizco Racing teammate Mike Stefanik.

Third-place Ryan Moore of Scarborough will miss the race after being suspended by NASCAR, fined $1,000, and docked 25 points for hitting another competitor’s car on two occasions after a race at Lime Rock (Conn.) Park last weekend.

He also failed to follow the directive of a NASCAR official.

Car owner Richard Moore was penalized 25 car-owner points for Ryan Moore’s actions; crew chief James Lorfano was fined $250 for actions detrimental to stock car racing and use of inappropriate language; and Kelly Moore, Ryan’s father, was fined $500 for actions detrimental to stock car racing, failure to follow the directive of a NASCAR official, and the use of inappropriate language.

Ryan Moore was suspended from racing until Oct. 31 and placed on probation until Dec. 31. Lorfano and Kelly Moore were also placed on probation until Dec. 31.
