Veazie, Cochin lead Beavers past Husson

BANGOR – Kristy Veazie scored at 63:13 off of a Kristi Cochin corner to lead the UMaine-Farmington Beavers to a 2-0 field hockey win over the Husson College Eagles Monday.

Mary Sinclair added an insurance goal off of a Veazie assist for UM-Farmington. Kaeleigh Barker made four saves on four shots.

Kelly Bocchino stopped 14 of 16 shots for Husson.

At Presque Isle, Casey Cribby scored three goals and Andrew Mack added two to lift Southern Maine Community College by Northern Maine CC.

Chris Mitchell and Matt Davis each added a goal for the 9-2 winners and Jon Breard made five saves on nine shots.

For 1-7 NMCC, Justin Lyshon made eight saves on 10 shots.

Bowdoin 1, Wheaton 1 (2OT)

At Brunswick, Dan Lane scored an unassisted goal at 75:35 to tie the game for Wheaton College and force overtime.

Nick Figueiredo scored at 58:20 to put 7-2-1 Bowdoin College on top 1-0. Nathan Lovitz stopped five of nine shots.

Matt Pachniuk made eight saves on 14 shots for 7-4-1 Wheaton College.
