HAMDEN, Conn. – Jaime Cassesse’s goal with 4:34 left in the first overtime lifted the Quinnipiac Bobcats to a 2-1 college field hockey win over the UMaine Black Bears Tuesday.

Both teams are now 8-5.

Cassesse’s second goal of the season came on a shot from the left side of the circle that beat Maine goalie Maygan Casserino.

Cheryl Torino’s first goal of the year opened the scoring for Quinnipiac.

Maine freshman Katy LePage of Skowhegan tied it in the second half with her fifth of the year as she deflected a Kasey Spencer shot behind Bobcat goalie Erin McKay.

McKay made nine saves, including three in overtime, on 15 shots. Casserino had three stops on 10 shots.
