Pirates down Lynx on Tracy’s OT goal

GUILFORD – Heather Tracy scored off a pass from Hattie Agnew with 5:20 left in the first overtime to lift the Piscataquis Community High Pirates to a 1-0 high school field hockey win over the Mattanawcook Academy Lynx Tuesday.

Jessica Pratt had one save on two shots for Piscataquis.

Sarah French and Tammy Savage combined for 22 saves on 34 shots for the Lynx of Lincoln.

Hampden 3, John Bapst 1

At Bangor, Alissa Hamilton and Darci Greenacre each scored a goal in the first half to lead Hampden by John Bapst.

Anna Lataille and Shaina Dennis had assists. Katie Hessert made 13 saves on 15 shots for 10-3-1 Hampden.

Marci Scofield scored on a penalty stroke in the second half, and Hilary Laferriere had 11 saves on 15 shots for 12-2 John Bapst.

JV: 0-0

Nokomis 3, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Alison Berg tallied two goals and one assist to lead the Warriors of Newport.

Lauren Lancaster added a goal for 5-8-1 Nokomis. Beth Flanders stopped all eight shots she faced.

Kitty Campbell and Karey Littlefield combined for seven saves on 10 shots for 1-12-1 Old Town.

Boys soccer

Old Town 8, Nokomis 0

At Old Town, Dillon Clark tallied three goals and one assist to propel Old Town.

Hogan Marquis notched a goal and two assists and Nate Lonko one goal and one assist for 5-7 Old Town. Tyler Dufour, Chris Brewer, and Corey Fournier chipped in a goal apiece. Ethan Shanley stopped all six shots he faced.

Wayne May made 18 saves on 26 shots for 1-11 Nokomis of Newport.

JV: Nokomis 11-2

Calvary Chapel 5, Highview 1

At Charleston, Rosaire Veilleux scored a pair of goals and assisted on another as Calvary Chapel of Orrington upended Highview Christian.

Jacob Thomas had a goal and an assist with Erik Kreitz and Jon Burke scoring the other goals for 6-4 Calvary Chapel. Luke Thomas had an assist.

John Romelow made six saves on eight shots before Luke Thomas finished up and made one save on four shots.

Chad Crooker scored for 1-8-2 Highview Christian and Andrew Richard made 26 saves on 45 shots.

Greenville 4, Rangeley 0

At Rangeley, Jonah Lizotte had three goals and one assist to lead Greenville to the win.

Richie Chilson chipped in with a goal and assist for 12-0 Greenville. Brandon Lavigne had four saves on six shots.

Quinn Philbrick stopped three of 21 shots for 5-6 Rangeley.

MCI 4, Mount View 2

At Thorndike, Mark Trombley notched a goal and an assist to power MCI of Pittsfield to the win.

Brandon Glencross, Owen Campbell, and Dustin Varney added a goal apiece for the 9-4 Huskies. Tristan Goewey had five saves on nine shots.

Kevin Price and Cody Zane scored for the 5-8 Mustangs. Ethan Jean stopped seven of 13 shots.

JV: MCI 3-2

Foxcroft 2, Hermon 2 (2OT)

At Dover-Foxcroft, P.J. Bombero scored the tying goal for Foxcroft four minutes into the second half.

Victor Codina netted a goal in the first and had the assist on Bombero’s goal. Evan Bridges made 16 saves on 21 shots for 1-10-2 Foxcroft.

Joey Carmichael and Ryan Kimball each scored a goal while Josh Blaine had five saves on 11 shots for 6-6-1 Hermon.

JV: Hermon 3-2

Brewer 2, Lawrence 2 (2OT)

At Fairfield, Evan Vois and Steve Grudda scored unassisted goals in the second half for the Bulldogs after they trailed 2-0 at halftime.

Vois scored with 4:15 left for 7-5-1 Lawrence. Josh Shepherd had six saves on 16 shots.

Andrew Richardson and Shunsuke Sasaki each had a goal and assist in the first half for 3-8-1 Brewer. Chris Brady saved six of 10 shots.

Girls soccer

Piscataquis 1, Central 0

At Guilford, Jacklyn Crouse scored the winning goal off a cross from sister Jessica Crouse with 26 minutes remaining in the first half.

Jill Martell made 20 saves on 20 shots for 4-8-1 Piscataquis, while Kimberly LeBlanc had 11 saves on 12 shots for the 4-7-1 Red Devils of Corinth.

Penobscot Valley 4, Penquis 0

At Howland, Ashley Dawson scored twice as the Howlers earned the win.

Molly Thompson and Lexi Thurlow each chipped in with a goal for Penobscot Valley. Jenn Plourde made four saves on five shots.

Johanna Kutz and Shelisha Clark combined for seven saves on 14 shots for Penquis of Milo.

Shead 2, Calvary Chapel 1

At Eastport, Whitney Remington headed in a pass from Fawn Cummings with 12:31 left in regulation to lift the Tigerettes to the win.

Cummings scored earlier in the match for 6-5-1 Shead. Dorothy Pottle saved four of five shots.

Ashley Garcia scored for the Sabers of Orrington, now 4-8. Hannah Lacadie had five saves on seven shots.

Lawrence 3, Brewer 0

At Brewer, Erica Heinrich scored an insurance goal on a penalty kick in the second half as Lawrence shut out the Brewer Witches.

Megan Forsythe and Danielle Slaney each tallied a goal for the winners while Katie Mayo made four saves on six shots for the 5-8 Bulldogs of Fairfield.

Carolyn Tuck had four saves on seven shots for the 4-8 Witches.

Bangor Chr. 6, Sumner 2

At East Sullivan, Amber Leathers scored three goals to pace Bangor Christian.

Morgan Chasse added two goals and Megan McDougall one for the 11-2 Patriots, while Brooke Hale contributed an assist. Libbey Long made eight saves on 10 shots.

Lona Sargent scored twice for 2-11 Sumner on assists from Jen Arey and Holly Stanwood. Whitney Page made 22 saves on 28 shots.

Lee 5, Katahdin 1

At Lee, Kimmy Thurlow tallied two goals in the first half to help lead Lee Academy by Katahdin.

Aarika Ritchie scored a goal and recorded three assists while Amanda Gifford and Marci Moors each added a goal. Jackie Moors and Dana Houlton combined for three saves on four shots for the 12-0 Pandas.

Brooke Lruezey scored in the first half while Nayla Stevens had 17 saves on 30 shots for the 1-11-1 Cougars of Stacyville.

Orono 6, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Lindsey Colbath hit for three goals as Orono shut out the Hermon Hawks.

Kate Kirby scored two goals and Shaylee Moulton had one, while Heather Woodbury and Brittany Pinkham combined for seven saves on 10 shots.

Ashley Kelley had three saves on 14 shots for 0-12-1 Hermon.

Nokomis 4, Old Town 3

At Newport, Miranda Picard scored on a Jamie Lieberman assist with two minutes left to give the Warriors the victory.

Lieberman and Erin Guesman each had a goal and an assist for Nokomis. Kelley Paradis scored once. Rozlyn Petersen made seven saves on 10 shots.

Katie Bergeron had two goals and an assist for Old Town. Allison Gallant scored a goal, and Nicole Guay made five saves on 12 shots.

JV: Nokomis 3-2
