CARIBOU – A Presque Isle man sustained minor injuries Monday morning when the truck he was a passenger in was involved in an accident with a car on Route 161.
The 10:30 accident involved a 1990 four door sedan operated by Mary Beth Aparo, 46, of Cromwell, Conn., and a flatbed truck operated by Bryan Grew, 19, of Mars Hill.
Dustin Heath, 22, complained of neck and back injuries, according to Caribou Patrolman John Devoe.
Both vehicles were headed south on route 161, when Aparo attempted to make a right hand turn. The truck, owned by Aroostook Monuments of Presque Isle, failed to slow down and struck the rear of Aparo’s car, pushing it into a ditch near the Village Cobbler.
Grew, Aparo and a passenger in her car were not injured.
Devoe said both vehicles sustained a lot of damage. He said Aparo’s car may be a total loss. He had no monetary amount of damages, but said the damage was in the thousands of dollars.
