SAM SHEEHAN
Sheehan, a member of the Caribou cross country team, took individual honors at the Pendale Invitational meet held in Hermon with a time of 17 minutes, 7 seconds for the 3.1-mile course. Led by Sheehan, the Vikings also won the team title.
Small School (Classes C-D)
IGNACIO BUSTOS
Bustos, a member of the Bangor Christian boys soccer team, twice scored three goals as the Patriots defeated Deer Isle-Stonington and Searsport to remain unbeaten. Bangor Christian is the top-ranked team in Eastern Maine Class D.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
BRITT CUMMINGS
Cummings, a member of the Belfast field hockey team, scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 overtime win against Leavitt of Turner last week, assisted on the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over Waterville, and scored a goal in a 5-0 win over MCI. The defending Class B state champion Lions wrapped up their regular season at 14-0.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MICHELLE FERRY
GINA SEARS
Ferry and Sears combined to lead the Woodland volleyball team to wins over Washington Academy and Calais last week. Ferry, a senior outside hitter, was 21-for-25 from the service line with four aces, 31 kills and 16 digs. Sears, a junior setter, was 24-for-28 with six aces, seven kills and 40 assists. The Dragons are 12-1.
