AUGUSTA – The Maine Cancer Consortium’s fourth annual meeting – set for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Senator Inn – will focus on updating a plan to reduce the burden of cancer in Maine.
In 2001 the consortium released the report Maine Responds to Cancer: The Maine Cancer Plan. Now the group wants to identify what it will do in the next five years to further optimize access to care, prevention, early detection, treatment, rehabilitation, survivorship, palliative care and quality of life.
The Maine Consortium for Comprehensive Cancer Control – with 140 members representing more than 50 organizations – includes representatives from hospitals, government, community agencies, private organizations, and the community at large.
