Jardine, Lakers defeat Buckfield

GREENVILLE – Joe Jardine scored two goals and assisted on a third to lead the unbeaten Greenville Lakers to a 4-0 schoolboy soccer win over the Buckfield Bucks Thursday.

Corey Woodbury had a goal and an assist for 13-0 Greenville. Durgin McKusick scored a goal and Kyle Whitman had an assist. Brandon Lavigne stopped both shots for his sixth shutout.

Justin Dodge made 18 saves on 41 shots for 4-8 Buckfield.

Fort Kent 3, Penobscot Valley 2

At Howland, Kelly Thibodeau’s unassisted goal with 23:40 left in the game gave the Warriors the winning edge over the Penobscot Valley Howlers.

Tom Desjardins scored one goal and assisted on another by Sherman Pelletier to give Fort Kent a 2-0 halftime lead.

Ryan Ware responded with an unassisted goal 1:10 into the second half for the Howlers and Matt Cummings added a second goal off a Nik Hockridge pass with 11:57 left.

Matt Harvey made five saves on eight shots for 6-5-2 Fort Kent and Ryan Harris made seven saves on 13 shots for 4-7-1 PVHS.

Lee 8, Penquis 1

At Lee, Peter Pickering tallied two goals and one assist and Yun Jung scored twice to lead the Pandas past the Patriots of Milo.

Minh Gu Rhee had a goal and assist for 9-4 Lee. Devon Parker, Doob Dow and Joel Worster added a goal apiece. Pickering, Kris King and Cameron Hamilton combined for seven saves on nine shots.

Robert Veno scored for 2-11 Penquis. Nick Emery and Joe Leland saved 20 of 34 shots.

Lincoln Acad. 4, MCI 3

At Pittsfield, Sam Elmes scored a goal and assisted another to push Lincoln Academy of Newcastle past Maine Central Institute.

Will Goth, Lucas Scarsciotti, and David Thorpe each scored a goal for the 11-2-1 Eagles and Devon Peaslee had an assist. Kevin Conant made four saves on 10 shots.

Mark Trombley had a goal and an assist for 9-5 MCI. Trevin Ming and Brandon Glencross both added a goal. Tristan Goewey stopped five of 10 shots.

Bangor 2, Old Town 0

At Bangor, Dylan George scored a goal and had an assist to lead Bangor past Old Town.

Zak Martin scored a goal for the 11-1-2 Rams and JoJo Hwalek had an assist. Austin Smith stopped four of seven shots.

Sam Petrie made seven saves on 15 shots for 4-10 Old Town.

JV: Bangor 14-0

Caribou 2, Presque Isle 1

At Presque Isle, Caleb Rosser scored a goal and assisted another to lead Caribou to the win.

Chase Gagnon scored a goal for 7-6-1 Caribou and Jarryd Rossignol had an assist. Brad Ala made 12 saves on 13 shots.

Nate Carter scored a goal for 13-1 Presque Isle. Adam Kingsbury stopped six of eight shots.

JV: Presque Isle 2-0

Girls soccer

Greenville 1, Buckfield 0

At Greenville, Hannah Breton beat the Buck defense to put a shot in the left side of the net with five minutes left in the first half as the Lakers picked up their 13th win.

Beth Bartley made two saves on two shots for 13-0 Greenville.

Shayna Shackford stopped 16 of 19 shots for 5-5-2 Buckfield.

Penobscot Valley 4, Fort Kent 1

At Howland, Ashley Dawson tallied three goals to power the Howlers past the Warriors.

Kelsey Lavertu chipped in with a goal for Penobscot Valley. Lyndsay Drost and Lexi Thurlow each added an assist. Jenn Plourde stopped five of 10 shots.

Lindsay Cyr scored a goal for Fort Kent and Kelsie Bouchard made five saves on 11 shots.

Brewer 1, Nokomis 1 (2OT)

At Brewer, Hayley Quirk scored the tying goal on a penalty kick with 17:33 left in regulation to Brewer.

Carolyn Tuck made eight saves on nine shots for the 4-9-1 Witches.

Rozlyn Petersen scored a goal 8:30 into the first half for 2-11-1 Nokomis of Newport. Nikki Cianchette and Petersen combined to make 14 saves on 17 shots.

Lee 7, Penquis 0

At Milo, Karin Bird knocked in a pair of goals to lead Lee Academy past Penquis.

Aarika Ritchie scored one goal and dished out two assists for the Pandas. Marci Moors, Amanda Gifford and Jessica Arbo notched a goal apiece. Jackie Moors, who scored on a penalty kick, had two saves on seven shots.

Kylie Palmer, Johannah Kutz and Shelisha Clark combined for 12 saves on 19 shots for the Patriots.

John Bapst 5, Hermon 0

At Hermon, Whitney Sinclair, Kari Habneeik and Hayley Curtis each had one goal and one assist to lead the Crusaders of Bangor to the win.

Amy Adams and Sarah Lammert added a goal apiece for 12-2 John Bapst. Caroline Carsling had two saves on four shots.

Ashley Kelley stopped 19 of 29 shots for 0-13-1 Hermon.

Bangor Christian 3, Searsport 1

At Bangor, Amber Leathers scored all three goals to push Bangor Christian to the win.

Meredith French and Morgan Chasse each provided an assist for the 11-2 Patriots. Libbey Long made six saves on nine shots.

Annette Anderson scored an unassisted goal in the second half for 6-7 Searsport. April Pickering made 16 saves on 32 shots.

Bangor 5, Old Town 0

At Old Town, Jessie Roberts scored two goals to lead Bangor to the win.

Amy Hackett scored a goal and assisted another for the 12-2 Rams. Casey Hartley and Courtney Stevenson each added a goal and Hannah Bennett had an assist. Ilyse Angst made six saves on nine shots.

Nicole Guay stopped 10 of 22 shots for 2-12 Old Town.

JV: Bangor 5-1

Central 2, Piscataquis 0

At Corinth, Amanda Gray scored an unassisted goal with 14:18 left in the first half to lead Central to victory.

Marissa Haney added a second half goal on a Erica Brownell assist for 5-7-1 Central. Kim LeBlanc stopped all 15 shots.

Jill Martell made 11 saves on 25 shots for 4-8-1 Piscataquis of Guilford.
