ORONO – Dog owners who want to help aid pets victimized by Hurricane Katrina should head to the University of Maine for a dog walk between 10 a.m. and noon Saturday, Oct. 15, at the bike trails near the softball field.

The UM Pre-Vet Club, Old Town Animal Orphanage and Best Friends program are hoping for donations of money, pet food, kitty litter, toys, litter pans, beds, blankets, liquid laundry detergent or other pet supplies before people walk their dogs on the trails.
