MILLINOCKET – Joey Caparrelli carried the ball seven times for 125 yards and two touchdowns to help lift the Ponies to victory.

Both of Caparrelli’s scores came in the first quarter, including a 54 yard run.

James McPhee also tallied two touchdowns as he carried the ball four times for 75 yards.

Shane Adkins, Brad Bellemare and Jerod Rideout each added a rushing touchdown as the Ponies totaled 320 yards on the ground.

Foxcroft’s defense held the Minutemen to 87 total yards.

Jon Campbell led all defenders, tallying 18 tackles, a sack, one fumble recovery and also blocked a kick for Stearns.

Rockland 40, MCI 34

At Rockland, Mike Marsh rushed for 108 yards on 11 carries and finished with two touchdowns, including the tie-breaking score with nine minutes left in the game, as Rockland eked out a victory.

On the first play of that decisive drive, Marsh ran the ball for 66 of his 108 total yards to put the Tigers ahead for good.

Trailing 26-14 at halftime, MCI responded when Rodney Jones returned the kickoff for a 75-yard touchdown.

Rockland quarterback Andrew Weiss answered that score with one of his own, as he rushed 40 yards on the first play of the Tigers’ next possession. Weiss finished the game with 122 yards on the ground, and completed seven of 18 passes for 173 yards.

Dom Morrill had a pass interception of MCI quarterback Victor Quint.

The Huskies rushed for 292 yards on 52 carries. Derek Gregory lead the way with 94 yards and a touchdown.

At Madison, Dan Kalagher was 4-for-9 passing with 111 yards and had nine carries for 75 yards and a touchdown for Madison.

Mitch Steward had 91 yards on 17 carries. Josiah Wing had two receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown while Tim Fortin had a 42-yard catch for the Bulldogs.

Tim Thornton had 16 tackles for Madison while Dan Kalagher and Dustin Whipple each made eight. Ryan Carpenter recovered a fumble.

Winthrop’s Josh Dubois rushed for 66 yards on eight carries.
