BANGOR – Elissa Gordon had a goal and three assists Sunday to lead Husson College to a 4-2 women’s soccer victory over Lesley College.
Shelby Morissette, Laurie Melen and Laura Clarke also recorded goals for 7-6-2 Husson.
Lani Cabral Pini and Alicia Pari each tallied a goal for Lesley, now 1-14-1. Sarah Wedge saved 10 of 23 shots.
Leah Drew made one save on four shots for the Eagles.
Maine Maritime 6, Lesley 1
At Castine on Saturday, Lindsey Comeau led the way with two goals and three assists to help the Mariners improve their record to 8-4-1.
Amy Asselin and Kristin Gabor each added a score and an assist, while Amy Preble also scored a goal.
Alicia Pari put 1-13-1 Lesley on the board with an unassisted goal in the first half. Sarah Wedge made 11 saves on 31 shots.
Meghan Marshall stopped four of six shots for MMA.
UM-Farmington 4, Thomas 0
At Waterville, Jodie Welch recorded three goals to pace the Beavers.
Erin Campbell added the other goal for 9-3-2 UMF.
The 6-6-1 Terriers took just three shots on goal, while the UMF offense shot 26 times.
Colby 0, Amherst 0 (2OT)
At Waterville, the Mules battled the Lord Jeffs through two rainy overtimes that resulted in a tie.
Liza Benson made 14 saves on 15 shots for 5-2-3 Colby, while Piper Crowell saved 12 of 15 shots for 4-3-2 Amherst.
USM 1, UMass Dartmouth 0
At North Dartmouth, Mass., Dianna Thibaudeau scored on a Julia Cyr assist at 77:14 to give the University of Southern Maine the win on Sunday.
Mindy Morneault made 14 saves on 25 shots for the 9-3-1 Huskies.
Shawna Howell stopped 12 of 23 shots for 4-10 University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Men’s soccer
Vermont 1, Maine 0
At Hampden, Jordan Crasilneck scored early in the game for the Catamounts, who held on for the win.
The score came on a shot from the 18-yard line that skipped just inside the left post. Tom Critz made seven saves on nine shots for 10-4-1 Vermont.
Chad Mongeon made three saves on 17 shots for the 2-8-2 Black Bears.
Saint Joseph’s 2, UM-Fort Kent 1
At Fort Kent, David Hakes scored the winning goal for the Monks with a minute left in the game on Sunday.
Brice Greenleaf recorded Saint Joseph’s first goal on an assist from Kevin Melega to tie the game late in the first half.
Rob Rochester scored the Bengals’ goal on an assist from Andy Martin. UMFK goalie Nicholas Thibodeau made 12 saves on 20 shots.
David Rosquette stopped 16 or 22 shots for the Monks of Standish.
UMPI 2, Saint Joseph’s 1
At Presque Isle, Sebastian Itman scored on a Matt Petrie assist with 5:17 left in the first half to give the University of Maine-Presque Isle the win on Saturday.
Robert Allen scored 13:35 into the first half on a Jared Griffiths assist for 5-5-1 UM-Presque Isle. Scott Clenchy made four saves on five shots.
Scott Desrosiers scored on a Jimmy Scotland assist at 37:03 in the first half for 3-8-1 Saint Joseph’s. David Rosquette stopped five of seven shots.
USM 4, UMass Dartmouth 1
At North Dartmouth, Mass., Greg Cox had a goal and an assist Saturday to lead 3-7-2 University of Southern Maine of Gorham to the win.
Adam Bial and Sinisa Bajic also scored to put USM up 3-1 at halftime. Chris Lapointe added a second-half goal for the Huskies.
Jay Fernandes scored an unassisted goal for UMass Dartmouth. Adam Rolfe made eight saves on 16 shots for the 4-7-1 Corsairs.
Chris Willard stopped 18 of 29 shots for USM.
Amherst 4, Colby 3
At Waterville, Mike Wohl had three goals, including the game-winner in the 79th minute, to push the Lord Jeffs past Colby.
Nick Lynch provided the other goal for 6-3-2 Amherst.
Todd Boertzel had the tying score for the White Mules, while Monty Hankin and Michael Butler also recorded goals. Josh Kahane stopped five of 15 shots for 5-6 Colby.
Greg Lockwood made two saves on eight shots for Amherst.
Field hockey
Maine 1, Dartmouth 0
At Hanover, N.H., on Sunday, Kim Macdonald scored on a penalty corner from Joanna Fernandes to give the Black Bears the only goal it would need.
Rebecca Giroux made four saves on 12 shots for 10-5 Maine.
For 5-7 Dartmouth, Lauren Balukjian saved five of 11 shots.
Western New England 4, Husson 2
At Springfield, Mass., on Sunday, freshman Caitlin Gelber scored two goals to pace the Golden Bears.
Allison Jameson and Alyssa Katz also scored for 13-3 Western New England.
WNEC’s Jillian Brown made four saves on six Husson shots.
The 4-8 Eagles of Bangor were led by KaroleAnne Emery, who scored two goals. Kelly Bocchino saved 12 of 35 shots.
Castleton 6, Husson 2
At Castleton, Vt., on Saturday, the Spartans scored four second-half goals to cruise past the Eagles.
Jamie Bell and Carrie Black each recorded a goal and two assists to lead 7-6 Castleton. Jen Mason, Heather Loomis, Carolyn Griggs and Kaleigh Peterson added a goal for apiece the Spartans.
Sara McIntire and Michelle Barden scored for 4-7 Husson. Kelly Bocchino made eight saves on 19 shots.
Trisha Clark saved nine of 17 shots for Castleton.
Bates 3, Southern Maine 0
At Gorham on Sunday, the Bobcats scored three second-half goals to capture the win.
Allison Marshall, Abby Childs and Emily Sampson each scored, while Rachel Greenwood tallied two assists. Sarah Judice saved six of 10 shots to earn the shutout for 5-6 Bates of Lewiston.
Sadie Garnache-Poirier made 14 saves on 24 shots for the 5-8 Huskies.
Colby 2, Amherst 1
At Waterville, Nikki Stadelman scored with two minutes left in the game to break a 1-1 tie, giving the 4-6 White Mules the win on Saturday.
Colby’s Frazer Humes notched her first collegiate goal to tie the game with 13:20 left in the first half.
For the 5-5 Lord Jeffs, Katherine Skrivan scored four minutes into the game. Kathleen Boucher made eight saves on 31 shots.
Jamie Enos stopped seven of 16 shots for Colby.
Women’s hockey
New Hampshire 4, Maine 1
At Durham. N.H., Jennifer Hitchcock and Jessica Zerafa each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the Wildcats to victory on Saturday.
Nicole Hekle and Sadie Wright-Ward also scored for 1-0 UNH.
Kelly Law scored for UMaine in the third period off a Julie Poulin assist. Genevieve Turgeon saved 34 of 38 shots for the 2-1 B;acl Bears.
Melissa Bourdon made 15 saves on 16 shots for the Wildcats.
Boston College 5, Maine 3
At Chestnut Hill, Mass., on Sunday, Becky Zavisza scored two goals in a span of 27 seconds late in the third period to help the Eagles finish off the Black Bears.
Nancy Gillis’ power-play goal at 9:59 of the third period gave Boston College (2-0, 1-0 Hockey East) the lead for good. Lindsay Wright netted two power-play goals for the Eagles, who were outshot 20-15.
Johanna Ellison made 17 saves.
Cheryl White scored twice in the third period to pace UMaine (2-2, 0-2 HE), notching a shorthanded goal and a power-play goal. She also provided an assist on a Pam Patterson shorthanded tally in the second period.
Genevieve Turgeon made 10 saves for the Bears, who went 1-for-7 on the power play. BC was 3-for-4.
Volleyball
Stony Brook 3, Maine 2
At Stony Brook, N.Y., the University of Maine dropped its second straight 3-2 decision Sunday and fell to 6-10 on the season.
The 8-12 Seawolves defeated the Black Bears by set scores of 21-30, 40-38, 26-30, 30-18, 15-10.
Maine was led by Leah Guidinger, who had 17 kills. Amy Lawson tallied 15 kills and seven blocks, while junior Shelly Seipp posted a match-high 59 assists.
Kate Ruskowski had 52 assists for Stony Brook. Morgan Sweany recorded 19 kills in the win.
