BUCKSPORT – An 18-year-old Lisbon Falls man and his passenger were injured Sunday when their vehicle went off the slick road and rolled over in a ditch.

Around 10:30 a.m., Christopher Kates and his passenger, Bryce Bishop, 18, also of Lisbon Falls, were traveling south on Route 46 near Hancock Pond when their 1990 Honda went off the slippery road and rolled over. Speed was a factor, said Officer Alvertie Patten of the Bucksport Police Department.

Both men were wearing seat belts.

Kates was taken by ambulance to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with multiple injuries. Bishop was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.

Officer Robert Findlay of the Bucksport Police Department, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and Bucksport Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
