GORHAM – Liz Brunton’s first-half goal gave netminder Mindy Morneault all the offense she’d need as the Southern Maine Huskies shut out the UMaine-Farmington Beavers 1-0 in a women’s soccer game Tuesday.
Morneault saved two of three shots for 10-3-1 Southern Maine.
Melissa Demerchant had one save on eight shots for the 9-4-2 Beavers.
Field hockey
Bowdoin 5, UM-Farmington 1
At Brunswick, Taryn King racked up three goals to lead the Polar Bears to the win.
Allson Craib and Tamlyn Frederick added a goal apiece for Bowdoin, now 11-0. Emileigh Mercer and Kate Leonard had one save apiece.
Mary Sinclair scored for the 9-4 Beavers. Kaeleigh Barker had 11 saves.
Men’s soccer
Colby 2, UM-Farmington 1
At Farmington, Chris MacFayden scored with 9:19 left in regulation to lift the visiting White Mules of Waterville to the win.
Bobby Abendroth scored in the first half for 6-6 Colby. Josh Kahane made one save.
