BURLINGTON, Vt. – Heather Hathorn scored off a pass from Erin Corey 26:18 into the match as the University of Maine women’s soccer team shut out the University of Vermont 2-0 Thursday.
Corey later scored on a Laura Harper assist at 57:35 for the 10-5-1 Black Bears. Jasmine Phillips stopped three of nine shots.
Laura Kissock made seven saves on 14 shots for 8-7-1 Vermont.
Colby 4, Husson 0
At Waterville, Libba Cox scored a goal and assisted another to lead host Colby College to the win.
Laura Williamson, Meg Cordner, and Jessica Lueders-Dumont each added a goal for the 6-2-3 White Mules. Liza Benson and Rachel Freierman combined to save both shots they faced.
Tatyana Wolterbeek and Leah Drew combined to stop 12 of 16 shots for 7-7-2 Husson College of Bangor.
Thomas 9, Unity 0
At Waterville, Brittany Morin tallied three goals and two assists and Toby Martin scored three goals as Thomas rolled past Unity College.
Krystel Plante, Karen Demers and Jen Higgins added a goal apiece for the Terriers.
