Your rifle is sighted in. Your tree stands are all set up. Your plans for the opening day of hunting season are nearly complete.
Now, all that’s left is the big question: Where to eat?
There are plenty of options available, as civic organizations and schools across the state are hosting their annual hunter’s breakfasts.
Here are a few to consider:
. At Dedham, the Dedham School class of 2007 will hold a hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 from 4-9 a.m. All proceeds help the class with their eighth-grade functions. Tickets are available at the door or by calling Dedham School at 843-6498. Adults eat for $5, children pay $3 and a special family rate of $12 is also available.
. At Eddington, the Eddington Salmon Club will hold a hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 from 4-9 a.m. The cost is $5.
. At Caribou, an annual hunters breakfast will be held on Oct. 29 at the VFW hall on Van Buren Road. The breakfast runs from 4-8 a.m. For more information, call 498-2761.
. At Hartland, the Hartland-St. Albans Lions Club will hold a hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 from 4-8 a.m. at the Grace Lynn Methodist Church. The meal consists of eggs, fried potatoes, ham, pancakes, baked beans and toast. The price is $5.
. At Corinth, the Powerline Prowlers Snowmobile Club will hold its hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 from 4:30-9 a.m. at the clubhouse on Route 15. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
. At Dixmont, a hunters breakfast will be held on Oct. 29 at the Archon Lodge hall from 4-9 a.m. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
. At Penobscot, the Penobscot Fire Department will hold a hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 from 4-8 a.m. at the fire station.
. At Skowhegan, the Abnaki Snow-Riders Snowmobile Club will hold its all-you-can-eat hunters breakfast on Oct. 29 at the clubhouse on Route 201. The meal will feature real maple syrup from Luce’s Maple Syrup House. The cost is $5 per person, free for children age 6 and younger. The breakfast helps defray expenses for the club’s trail-grooming efforts.
. At Appleton, a hunters breakfast will be held on Oct. 29 at the Appleton Village School from 4-10 a.m. The cost is $5 per person, $15 per family. The breakfast benefits the eighth grade graduation and class trip. Call 785-4504 for information.
