Sleet and snow may not be the perfect conditions for stilettos, but that doesn’t mean Mainers are oblivious to the fashion world. For those of us who crave a taste of what’s coming to the catwalk, this season of “Project Runway” is worth checking out.
And don’t worry, ladies, your man will sit through this one with you just for a chance to see supermodel and show host Heidi Klum.
“Project Runway’s” first season was entertaining, particularly for those of us who are fashion fanatics, but if the preview of season two’s premiere in December is any indication of what the show has in store, it’ll be bigger and better than before.
Like last year, the designers will compete for $100,000 in seed money to help them launch their own line, and a mentorship from the Banana Republic design team. The winner’s designs also will be photographed for Elle magazine.
Only this time, there are 16 fresh new designers competing for the prize instead of 12. Ranging in age from 22 to 51, this season’s contestants have personality galore and more designers means more drama, which equals an entertaining season.
Tune in to Bravo at 10 p.m. Dec. 7 to meet the cast and see which designer is the first to go.
On the musical end of reality TV, it’s been an exciting couple of weeks for INXS with the debut of their new song “Pretty Vegas” making the Billboard Top 40.
New lead singer J.D. Fortune, winner of “Rock Star: INXS,” seems to have revitalized the band and given it the best debut it has had in more than a decade.
For the gals out there who swooned over the show’s runner-up, Marty Casey, have no fear. Casey and his band, The Lovehammers, haven’t slipped out of the limelight and will perform as the opener for INXS’ world tour “Switched On,” that is slated to kick off Jan. 18 in Vancouver, Canada.
“Switch,” INXS’ new album with Fortune as lead singer, will be released by Epic Records on Nov. 29.
