DOVER, N.H. – A grand jury has indicted a Maine man accused of raping a 19-year-old woman while he purportedly shopped for a home.

Oliver Hooper Jr., 34, of Gorham, Maine, faces five charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault. He also faces two criminal threatening charges and one kidnapping charge.

Police arrested Hooper on Aug. 4 after a 10-day manhunt. Police said Hooper pretended to be interested in buying the Dover home to gain access to his victim.

Only one woman reported being raped but many witnesses who had homes for sale in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts said a man resembling Hooper had visited them.

Hooper was being held at the Strafford County jail on $500,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 7.
