FORT KENT – Ashley Cihak scored two goals Tuesday to lead the University of Maine-Fort Kent to a 3-1 victory over UMaine-Machias in a Sunrise Conference women’s soccer semifinal game.

The 12-5 Bengals advance to league championship Saturday at Lyndon State (Vt.).

Kristine Cyr scored on a Maria Williams assist for the Lady Bengals. Heather Hartman made 11 saves on 16 shots.

Crystal Cameron stopped 20 shots for the 4-9 Clippers.

Field hockey

Bowdoin 8, Southern Maine 0

At Brunswick, Margaret Gormley, Christi Gannon, and Lindsay McNamara each scored two goals as Bowdoin College tied the school record for consecutive victories with their 13th straight win.

Taryn King and Hillary Hoffman both added a goal for the 13-0 Polar Bears. Kate Leonard and Emileigh Mercer combined to stop both shots for the shutout.

Sadie Garnache-Poirier and Natalie Nimon combined to make 26 saves on 42 shots for 6-11 University of Southern Maine in Gorham.
