Big School (Classes A-B)

BEN CALDWELL

Caldwell, a senior fullback and linebacker for the Brewer football team, rushed for a career-high 201 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns as the Witches earned a key 20-14 road win at Belfast. Caldwell scored on runs of 61 and 3 yards during a victory that improved Brewer to 6-2 and earned the Witches homefield advantage in the Eastern Maine Class B quarterfinals this weekend.

Small School (Classes C-D)

BRIAN YORK

York, a member of the Schenck of East Millinocket cross country team, took top individual honors at the Eastern Maine Class C championship meet held at Belfast. York completed the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course in 17 minutes, 17.80 seconds to defeat second-place Tom Lamarche of Central of Corinth by 41.19 seconds..

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

HILARY MAXIM

Maxim, a sophomore member of the Old Town cross country team, finished second in the Eastern Maine Class B race Saturday. Maxim’s 19:41 paced a group of three Old Town runners in the top 10, including Eliza Tibbits (third) and Ashleigh Madden (sixth).

Small School (Classes C-D)

LOGAN COUSINS

A junior wing for the No. 2 Limestone-MSSM soccer team, Cousins scored two goals in a 4-2 Eastern Maine Class D semifinal victory over No. 3 Bangor Christian Tuesday as the Eagles earned their first berth in a regional final. She also scored twice in a 4-3 quarterfinal win over No. 7 Fort Fairfield Friday.
