PORTLAND – The Portland Sea Dogs, in conjunction with TD Banknorth, the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, and WMTW TV-8 announced that $306,479 was raised for the Sea Dogs’ Strike Out Cancer in Kids fundraiser.

Sea Dogs pitchers struck out 1,141 batters in 2005. For every batter a pitcher struck out, TD Banknorth donated $10 to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program. The total is the second-highest since the program was started in 1995.
