Two Bangor residents were charged early Sunday morning with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol after police broke up a loud party that reportedly featured underage drinking.

Casey Belanger, 27, and Marc Wilson, 21, were having a party at their Fourth Street apartment when Bangor police officers responded to loud noise complaints.

Police saw several partygoers outside, many of whom appeared to be intoxicated and under the age of 21, according to a police report.

When police arrived, many partygoers scattered from the apartment and out a back entrance. One of the minors, a 16-year-old girl, admitted she had been drinking inside the apartment.

Belanger, who was wearing a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle costume, admitted that the party was his and he was arrested. Wilson was later arrested after police learned that he lived in the apartment as well.

The 16-year-old girl was released to her parents.

The Maine Forest Service will investigate a fire that broke out Sunday afternoon at a home in Carmel that was set to be demolished.

The home’s owner, whose name was not released, was seen by a passing firefighter lighting the Cook Road building on fire at about 4:30, according to Carmel Fire Department Capt. Mike Azevado.

Firefighters from Carmel, Stetson, Etna and Newburgh spent about 21/2 hours putting out the blaze.

The homeowner had a permit to burn debris from the building but did not have permission to set the building on fire, Azevado said. Additionally, the captain said, that permit had been revoked by a forest ranger before Sunday.

A man caught urinating outside a Bangor nightclub was arrested early Sunday morning for indecent conduct, police said.

Shawn Bradford, 30, of Bangor was found by Bangor police in the parking lot of Club Gemini. His pants were falling down and they could see a stream of urine cascading off the side of the federal building, which is adjacent to the club, police said.

Bradford admitted he was drunk, and police have dealt with him on numerous occasions, including for disorderly conduct in August and for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants in February.
