Product recall focuses on shampoo caps

All disposable shampoo caps manufactured by the Salus Corp. have been recalled because the caps could be contaminated with the serratia marcescens bacterium, which can cause severe and life-threatening illness if it enters the bloodstream. No reports of illnesses have been received.

The recalled caps, which are used to clean hair without running water, are distributed in 1-cap packages and under three brand names: The CompleteBath caps bear the reorder number ICP095230; the ReadyBath caps bear the reorder number MSC095230; and No-Rinse caps bear the reorder number 02000. No Rinse Laboratories, Medline Industries and Sales Corp. distributed the product to health care facilities and institutions nationwide during the last four years.
