LEWISTON – The Maine Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday accused Mayor Lionel Guay of making unwanted sexual advances toward a young woman who worked at his accounting firm.
Guay was charged with three counts of unlawful sexual touching and four counts of assault.
The 18-year-old accuser said Guay touched her breasts and buttocks and kissed her without her consent.
The mayor, who is up for re-election Tuesday, denied the allegations and said he did nothing wrong.
He said he has cooperated with the Attorney General’s Office.
Guay is scheduled to be formally charged in Lewiston District Court on Nov. 16.
