Police work on leads in burglaries

PRESQUE ISLE – Investigators said this weekend they are still looking for whoever burglarized four businesses in the Star City on Halloween.

Presque Isle Police Detective Wayne Selfridge said Saturday that police have some leads in the case. Detective Sgt. William Campbell is leading the inquiry.

“We are still working on this, and he [Campbell] does have some leads that he is following up on,” Selfridge said. “So the case remains ongoing.”

At the time, police discovered that someone had forced their way into Hedrich Vending Inc., Dick’s Auto and Truck Glass, M&M Sheet Metal and Welding Inc., and Auto Machine, all on Industrial Street numbers 15 to 78.

Petty cash was taken from three of the establishments, but there was minimal damage to the structures.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call PIPD at 764-2534.
