DirigoChoice solution

As one of the first businesses to enroll in the DirigoChoice plan (February 2005), we would like to express our satisfaction with the plan and the fact that more employees enrolled than in our previous plan. Currently we have 21 employees enrolled as opposed to nine prior to Dirigo. The Belfast Co-op employs 50 full- and part-time employees.

The Belfast Co-op is a natural and organic retail store with a focus on health. It is extremely gratifying to know that we can offer our employees an insurance plan that not only is affordable but also will enable them to be proactive about their health. This, more than any other consideration, makes DirigoChoice worth keeping and also promoting to others.

Let us not forget that there will always be adjustments to any plan. However, if all of us – employees, businesses, insurers, health care providers and the state – work together, then we can continue to improve this much needed solution to affordable health coverage.
