Leadership course

TACOMA, Wash. – John York, James Belanger II and Mark Thurlow graduated recently from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course at Fort Lewis.

York, the son of Tina and Perley York of Bucksport, attends the University of Maine. He is a 2002 graduate of Bucksport High School.

Belanger attends Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, Fla. A 2002 graduate of Bangor High School, he is the son of James Belanger of Glenburn.

Thurlow attends the University of Maine. He is the son of Wayne and Jeannie Thurlow of Winn.

Advanced training

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Marine Corps Pfc. Janice Walsh recently completed the personnel clerk course at Personnel Administration School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Lejeune.

A 2004 graduate of Hampden Academy, she is the daughter of Brenda and Mark Walsh of Hampden.

Deployment

BANGOR – Air Force Staff Sgt. Michael Page participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom at a forward deployed operating location overseas.

Page is a heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration craftsman regularly assigned to the 101st Civil Engineering Squadron in Bangor. He is the son of Aurther and Amelia Page of Hancock.

GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba – Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Allen Frenette has deployed to the U.S. Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to serve as a member of Joint Task Force-GTMO in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Frenette has served in the military for more than four years. He is the son of Linda Frenette of Bangor and Everett Frenette of Patten.

Basic training

LAWTON, Okla. – Army Pvt. Thomas Coburn has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Kelly Coburn of Monson and Lisa Levensailor of Bangor.
