Twelve choirs will perform in the second annual Festival of Choirs, beginning at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 231 Main St. The choirs will perform individually, with some smaller choirs joining forces. All of the choirs will perform a final piece together. Choirs participating: Balkan Women’s Choir, Congregation Beth El, Congregational Church of Castine, First Congregational Church of Blue Hill, First Congregational Church of Ellsworth, Lamoine Baptist Church, St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, St. Francis by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Union Congregational Church of Hancock, Unitarian Universalist Church of Ellsworth, and Women With Wings. Proceeds from the concert benefit Faith in Action Community Connection, a nonprofit in the Ellsworth area that trains and coordinates volunteers to assist the elderly and disabled with a variety of services at no charge.
