Loud music leads to arrest, warning

A Second Street resident who was warned late Thursday afternoon for playing his music too loud was arrested about a half-hour later when police returned to his apartment.

Police first responded at 5:23 p.m. to reports of a fight at 40 Second St., but when they arrived they found only one man inside the apartment, Glen Dumont, 43.

Dumont was visibly drunk and bleeding from his knuckles, according to police reports. He told police he was mad and hit the wall, not another person.

Police warned him to turn the music down and went on their way. At 5:55 p.m., police returned to the apartment after a neighbor complained about loud music.

Dumont was arrested for disorderly conduct and taken to Penobscot County Jail. A female who was passed out inside Dumont’s apartment was issued a disorderly conduct warning.

A transient was arrested Friday afternoon when police found him parked in a driveway on Everett Street in Bangor with open containers of beer in his vehicle.

Witnesses reported to police around 11:50 a.m. that a 1990 Oldsmobile was operating erratically on Court Street near Everett Street.

When police found the car, it was parked and the driver, David Bryant, 49, was inside with an open can of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer.

As Bangor police Officer Tyler Leighton approached Bryant, he saw the man throw the can on the floor of the car. Bryant told the officer he was “just relaxing,” according to a police report.

Leighton performed sobriety tests on the man, which Bryant failed. The officer searched the car and found six other empty beer cans inside.

Bryant was arrested and taken to Acadia Hospital’s detoxification unit. His blood alcohol level was 0.18.
