MILO – A Dover-Foxcroft man will be arraigned in Superior Court in Piscataquis County today for allegedly violating conditions of his release and leading police on a chase for about an hour Saturday.

Patrick Hathorne, 32, was charged with violating release conditions and held without bail at Piscataquis County jail, police said.

A state police dog and dog handler were called to Elm Street near Pleasant River at about 9:20 a.m. Saturday after a woman reported that her ex-boyfriend had appeared at a residence in violation of his release conditions, police said.

The man, who was later identified as Hathorne, abandoned his car when he saw police or heard they were coming, police said. He came out of the woods and surrendered peacefully about an hour later. Police towed the car to the police station.

Details of the release conditions and the charge or charges that spawned them were not available Sunday.

In 1999, Hathorne was one of three men convicted of using clubs to severely beat two men during a brawl in a Corinth cornfield the year before.

Hathorne was charged with Class A elevated aggravated assault, three counts of Class B aggravated assault, violation of condition of release and two counts of assault.
