BANGOR – A Bar Harbor man and woman were indicted last week on drug charges by a federal grand jury.

Jessica Nickels, 28, and Adam Vinson, 25, are scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Bangor on one count each of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine and two counts each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

If convicted, each faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.

The couple is charged with selling cocaine in August and September in Hancock County.

In a different case, a Farmington man was indicted for possession of child pornography.

Travis Farmer, 26, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in federal court in Bangor. A special agent with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in 2002 traced five images of a naked toddler posted on an online newsgroup to Farmer’s computer.

A further search on the computer’s hard drive in 2003 found more than 100 images of prepubescent minors that included infants and toddlers, according to court documents. Many of the children were engaging in sexually explicit conduct. More images also were found on a hard drive hidden in a toolbox.

If convicted, Farmer faces up to five years in prison and fine of $250,000.

In an unrelated case, Anthony Gilks, 24, of Winthrop was indicted on two counts of violating federal gun laws. Gilks was prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition after he was convicted last year in 7th District Court in Augusta of domestic assault on his girlfriend. His arraignment date has not been set.
