ACADIA NATIONAL PARK – Park rangers watched Monday afternoon as three people drank alcohol inside a vehicle at Thompson Island and started to drive away. The trio, however, didn’t get very far.

Ranger Neal Labrie stopped the car and found that driver Kathryn Doan, 24, of Trenton had a suspended license and passenger Matthew Schilling, 35, of Trenton was in violation of bail conditions from a previous offense. He was not legally allowed to be in possession of alcohol, the ranger said.

Schilling was arrested by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department for his bail violation and Doan was issued a ticket on a charge of operating after suspension. A third occupant, Sean Glennon, 38, of Bar Harbor, was issued a ticket for having an open container of beer.
