Now through Saturday, Nov. 19, Green Acres Kennel Shop, located at 1653 Union St. in Bangor, will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to the Bangor Humane Society.

The humane society has experienced a decrease of 66 percent in contributions this fall, reported Green Acres owner Don Hanson.

“They desperately need the community to help them make it through the winter,” he added, encouraging “all pet lovers” to help the humane society “continue its mission” of caring for homeless pets and placing them with adoptive families.
