BANGOR – Put on your best bib and tucker, and polish up your manners, young ladies and gentlemen. You are invited to the Nutcracker tea party 1-2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the Maine Discovery Museum. The Nutcracker, Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy will be among the special guests at the party.
Photos with your favorite Nutcracker characters will be available at noon. Then, punch and goodies will be served in china tea cups and saucers. One lump or two, my dear?
A craft project, and a dance demonstration by members of the Robinson Ballet, will enliven the gathering after refreshments are served.
Lending a festive atmosphere to the tea party will be a display of 30 children’s book illustrations by Italian artist, Nicoletta Ceccoli, on view through Jan. 1.
To make reservations for the tea party, call the museum at 262-7200. The cost is $12 for museum members, $18 for others.
