HALIFAX, Nova Scotia – Chris Sargent had a high series score of 466 to help push the Maine Heat of Bangor into first place in the Coca-Cola division after the second day of the World Team Candlepin Bowling Championships at Halifax Fairlanes on Wednesday.
Maine Heat (42-6) leads MacLaughlin’s Truck and Trailer and Pelham Electric by four games. Maine Heat and MacLaughlin’s both hold the best average in their division with a 645. Mid-Coast Maine of Rockland is 10th at 642.
Park Place Lanes II leads the 12-team Ramada Hotel division with a 40-8 record. USA East of Maine sits in 10th with an 18-30 record and Vacationland of Saco is 11th at 16-32.
Gary Carrington of Park Place Lanes II had the single high with an 189.
Round-robin play continues in the tournament until Friday’s playoff rounds begin. Bowlers are competing in three three-string daily matches with semifinals and the final scheduled for Saturday.
