Selectmen read a thank-you letter Monday from a Foxcroft Academy official who praised Police Chief Dennis Dyer’s work with the school’s driver education program. Peter Caruso, driver education instructor, wrote that Dyer has given his time to meet with students in his classes over the years to discuss driving laws, the impact of alcohol use on driving, and expectations of the town’s law enforcement officials regarding newly licensed drivers. “The chief’s visits to the class have been eagerly anticipated by the students, and he has never failed to deliver the knowledge necessary for the academy’s novice drivers,” Caruso wrote. He said the chief has met with students in the class during his vacations. “Dover-Foxcroft is fortunate to have as a leader of its law enforcement agency one who is committed to the safety of our youth on the area’s highways.”
